Residents voice bus concerns to MTA during meeting
More than 1,000 people in Riverdale have signed a petition calling for better bus service on the Bx10 and Bx20 routes.
Many of those who signed the petition got a chance to voice their concerns Tuesday directly to the MTA at a Community Board 8 meeting.
Some riders say that things have become chaotic since 2010, when Bx20 bus service was reduced. They say that buses only run during weekday rush hour, which affects Bx10 service.
In the petition, residents are asking the MTA for more Bx10 buses and around-the-clock Bx20 service.
MTA officials say they reviewed the route in the last quarter of 2016. The results are currently being analyzed, and if officials find a need for more buses on the Bx10 route, then that increase would go into effect this fall.
