Police arrest man accused of hiding body parts at Hunts Point waste station
Police have made an arrest in connection with the death of a woman whose body parts were found at a waste transfer station.
Officials say 40-year-old Somorie Moses, of Brooklyn, was arrested in Hunts Point and charged with concealment of a human corpse.
Authorities confirmed Sunday that Moses kept a human head, two hands and two feet inside his Erasmus Street apartment's freezer.
Moses has several prior convictions and is a registered sex offender in New York.
As News 12 reported, workers at the Metropolitan Transfer Station on Halleck Street discovered a woman's torso and leg among piles of garbage around 5 a.m. Tuesday.
Officials say investigators then began sifting through the garbage and found two forearms on Wednesday.
The victim has not yet been identified.
Authorities are also investigating a separate uncovering of body parts in New Jersey that has not been linked to the body parts found in the Bronx and Brooklyn.
