Man critical after hit by car in Westchester Square

A man is fighting for his life in the hospital after he was run over by a car in Westchester Square.



The accident happened just after 6 a.m.



According to police, the 59-year-old man was attempting to cross Little League Place near East Tremont Avenue when a car was making a turn onto the road.



Witnesses say the pedestrian was not in the crosswalk, but was in the middle of the road.



According to the NYPD, the victim was rushed to Jacobi Medical Center in critical condition.



No charges have been filed so far.
