2 arrested after man loses finger in machete attack

Two men have been arrested in connection to cutting a man's finger off during a machete attack in the Bronx, police say.

Abreu Bryan, 19 and Paniaqua Andry, 19, are facing a number of charges after police say they and a third man chased the victim into a residential building and attacked him with knives and a machete.

The incident happened on Jan. 21, around 11 p.m. inside of an apartment building at 3029 Briggs Ave. in Bedford Park.

At least one of the three suspects used a machete to attack the man, severing his left pinky. Police say the man also suffered multiple cuts to his arms and legs.

He was transported to the hospital in critical condition.

The two men face assault and possession of weapons charges.

Police are still looking for the third suspect.
