QSAC school for students with autism opens

A new school for children with autism has overcome years of delays to finally open in the Bronx.

QSAC, an acronym for Quality Services for the Autism Community, held a ribbon cutting Thursday for its new location in Norwood. It has another location in Queens.

The school has 92 children expected to enroll in the coming months. It will serve students between 5 and 21 years old, offering speech therapy, vocational training and support groups for families.

It also uses up-to-date educational technology like interactive Smartboards and iPads.
