Bronx River coat drive helps needy residents

The Bronx River Community Center, along with the Acacia Network and New York Cares, is hosting a coat drive on East 174th Street to help needy Bronx residents.

Administrators say they gave out more than 100 coats this week, including one to a man who was out in pouring rain without one.

Leftover coats will be donated to other senior and community centers in the borough, organizers say.
