Bronx church reopens following damaging fire

A longtime Bronx church has risen from the ashes and is now back after a fire forced it to close for almost seven years.

The Love Gospel Assembly Church celebrated its first service in its building last weekend.

An electrical fire demolished the building in 2010. Parishioners say it has been a struggle trying to worship without the building, moving from place to place as a nomadic congregation and losing some followers along the way.

Church officials say there are also plans to reopen a kitchen downstairs that was also destroyed in the fire so they can continue giving out food to those in need.
