City’s bravest and finest honored at school Mass

As National Catholic Schools Week wraps up, some of the borough's finest and bravest were honored today at a special Mass.

Police officers and firefighters from across the Bronx were invited to fill the pews at St. Philip Neri Church to hear words of gratitude for their service at the annual Mass organized by the St. Philip Neri school.

Priests and schoolchildren lead the sea of uniform in song and prayer to show appreciation for the often dangerous work carried out by members of the police and fire departments to keep the community safe.

The Mass wrapped up a week of special services and commemorations across the borough.
