Bronx pastor gaining national recognition, following

A Bronx pastor is making waves at his Belmont church and across the nation, gaining a large following from his congregation and on social media.

With more than 60,000 followers on Twitter and as a frequent contributor on Fox News, Father Jonathan Morris has been making a difference in the lives of Bronx teens with a youth empowerment group he started.

Morris was recently a priest at the old St. Patrick's Cathedral in SoHo and then at Columbia University as chaplain.

He came to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church two years ago where he says he has made some much-needed renovations and expanded community programs.

"We're here for you in the long term," says Morris. "I think there's trust in this community that this is a place where they can find refuge and find love."

Morris says he plans to continue with renovations at the church and expand the community outreach to help the people in the Bronx.
