Neighbors relieved after traffic light approval in Morris Park

Residents who live near a dangerous intersection in the Bronx are relieved that the Department of Transportation will be installing a new traffic light.

As News 12 reported, residents living near Rhinelander and Tomlinson avenues in Morris Park demanded a light be installed after witnessing numerous car crashes and people speeding down the road.

The DOT announced it will install a traffic light at the intersection after conducting its own study.

There was also a demand from public advocates to keep children who attend two public schools near the road safe.

The DOT says the light will be installed around May 3.
