2nd-floor parking garage collapses on Jerome Avenue

At least 20 cars were damaged when the portion of a second-floor parking garage collapsed inside a Bedford Park building.

The incident happened Sunday at the parking garage on Jerome Avenue around 6 a.m.

About 60 firefighters were at the scene of the unstable building.

Employees say no one was injured, but about 20 cars were damaged after debris came crashing down.

Department of Building inspectors have issued a full vacate order for the structure, and have directed the owner to present a plan to demolish or stabilize the building.
