Bronx church prides itself on inclusiveness
One Bronx church is doing its best to bring people together during tough times.
Priests at Christ Church Riverdale put an emphasis on fostering an extremely diverse congregation. They say color does not matter and they cannot stress enough that every church should be a safe haven to get away from the world's adversity.
"I first started coming here because it was four blocks from my home, but I kept coming here because of the people," says parishioner Margo Tyler. "They're extremely welcoming."
The 150-year-old Episcopal church has been recognizing Black History Month every Sunday by giving children lessons on black history in Sunday school.
