Mother protests NYPD over 1999 Diallo shooting case
The mother of an unarmed Bronx immigrant who was shot and killed by police in 1999 protested the NYPD's decision to give one officer involved his gun back.
Katiadou Diallo criticized Commissioner Ray Kelly during a rally in Manhattan Sunday for re-arming Officer Kenneth Boss. He is one of four cops who fired 41 shots at her son, Amadou Diallo, after mistakenly believing that he was reaching for a gun.
All of the officers were acquitted of criminal charges, but only Boss remained on the force. He currently works at Floyd Bennett Field in Brooklyn.
