Fake cops wanted for attempted robbery of BX deli
Police are stepping up the search for two men who they say pretended to be cops and tried to rob a deli in The Bronx.
According to authorities, the suspects walked into the Titanic Deli on East Gun Hill Road on July 20 wearing regular clothing. They say the men displayed a police badge and a firearm, and demanded money.
The impersonators were turned down by a worker and left without a fight, but not before being caught on surveillance video. One is believed to be in his early 50s and the other between 20 and 30 years old.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
