Experts offer tips for National Sleep Week
Health professionals are stressing the importance of a good night's sleep for 2015's National Sleep Week.
Disorders like sleep apnea can affect work performance and relationships, experts say.
For healthy people looking to get better sleep, experts recommend cool bedroom temperatures and keeping sleeping areas as dark and as quiet as possible.
Dr. Daniel Erichsen of St. Barnabas Hospital recommends a comfortable mattress and a consistent wakeup time.
Also, he says, there is a persistent myth that people need eight or 10 hours of sleep.
"Some people need to sleep 10 hours, some people need to sleep six to seven hours," he says.
