Police: Man attacked pet shop owner in grooming dispute
Police say they have arrested a man who allegedly assaulted a Bronx pet store owner and employee.
They say Frankie Harrison assaulted Maria Agrinsonis, owner of Maria's Pet Shop, after Harrison brought his dog to get groomed Thursday morning.
Agrinsonis showed News 12 surveillance video of the 36-year-old suspect in her store, which is located at 1382 White Plains Road.
She says Harrison asked for his dog to be shaved everywhere except for the ears, which were pinned up. Agrinsonis says she noticed the dog's ears were extremely matted and told him she needed to shave the ears to prevent injury to the animal.
She says that is when Harrison demanded his dog back, violently slammed the animal on the counter, and then allegedly hit her and another employee in the face.
Harrison is facing two counts of assault, plus charges of menacing and harassment.
The dog is currently under the care of the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
