Illegal trash dumping plagues Pelham Bay street
A group of Pelham Bay neighbors says their street has become a dumping ground for anyone and anything.
Papers, bottles, television sets and trash bags filled with what appears to be construction waste can all be found along the Hutchinson River Parkway at Wilkinson Avenue.
The city has an illegal dumping reward program where a resident can get up to half of the fine someone is given for an illegal dumping charge. The illegal dumping has to be witnessed.
In a statement to News 12 regarding the waste along the Hutchinson River Parkway, the Department of Sanitation said it will "investigate the location in question and take the appropriate action when manpower is available."
