Armed man attempts to rob Chinese restaurant

Robbery squad detectives in the Bronx are searching for an armed man who tried to rob a local restaurant.

Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect, who they say went into the No. 1 Chinese Restaurant at 1735 University Ave. back on Feb. 15.

According to investigators, the man pulled out a gun and demanded money from the clerk. The employee ran to the back and the suspect took off empty handed. No injuries were reported.

He's described as a black man who was wearing a dark coat, colored jeans and a half face mask.

Anyone with information should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS
