Video shows attempted robbery of 18-year-old woman

Three men were caught on camera assaulting an 18-year-old woman during an attempted robbery.

Investigators released the surveillance video, which shows the victim trying to get into her College Avenue apartment building back on March 12 at around 7 p.m.

According to police, the suspects walked up to the teenager and demanded her cellphone, but she refused. That's when they say one man put her in a chokehold and shoved her into a railing, while another man tried to forcibly take the phone from her hand.

The victim was not hurt, and the men fled without any of her property. She says that she hopes police find her attackers quickly before they can terrorize anyone else.

Two of the suspects are described as being dark skinned, with one believed to be as young as 17 years old.

Anyone with information that could help should call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
