New signal adjustment eases traffic flow on Boston Road

One crossroad in the borough is seeing improvements after years of complaints about safety and traffic congestion.
Several people say a recent traffic signal adjustment has made a big change at the intersection of Thwaites Place and Boston Road.
The Department of Transportation added 16 more seconds of green light to drivers traveling southbound on Boston Road and making a right turn onto Fordham Road.
Members of the Friends of Community Board 11 pushed for the traffic adjustment and say the change is a step in the right direction. Many hope more improvements will come by adding a traffic agent at the intersection as well.
