Woman gets donated wheelchair after hers is stolen
A disabled grandmother who had her motorized wheelchair stolen was given a new one on Friday from a loyal News 12 viewer. Virginia Velez, 70, had her wheelchair stolen by three suspects outside a salon.

A disabled grandmother who had her motorized wheelchair stolen was given a new one on Friday from a loyal News 12 viewer.
Virginia Velez, 70, had her wheelchair stolen by three suspects outside a salon.
Edwin Pizarro, owner of Medfirst Homecare in New Jersey, says he saw the surveillance video of the crime on the News 12 The Bronx Facebook page on Friday morning.
Just hours later, Pizarro delivered a new motorized chair to Velez. It is valued between $3,000 and $5,000.
The wheelchair comes complete with a headrest, swivel capability, a reclining function and wheels that are guaranteed to never go flat.
Velez was overjoyed with her new chair. "If I could jump for joy, I would give you a dance right now," she said.
Along with the new chair, Velez is also receiving a 13-month labor warranty, which is valued at more than $350 in case anything happens to it.
The investigation into finding the suspects on the surveillance video is ongoing.
