Employee hospitalized after deli shooting
A deli worker is hospitalized at Jacobi Medical Center after a stray bullet struck him in the head Thursday afternoon, police say.
The victim was putting fruits and vegetables on a display rack when he was shot in front of his job at 1250 Morrison Ave. around 4:15 p.m., witnesses say.
Local residents say the victim had worked at the deli for about a decade and was well-liked in the neighborhood.
Police say they have arrested Lameek Oliver in connection with the attack. He was charged with felony assault.
