Family still hopeful for justice in 1982 cold case

The family of a girl murdered 33 years ago still remains hopeful that the person responsible will be brought to justice as police renew efforts to find leads.

Felice Jackson was murdered in her sixth-floor apartment on Fox Street in Longwood on April 8, 1982. NYPD officers from the Crime Stoppers division knocked on doors Wednesday, hoping residents could shed some light on the cold case.

Jackson's sister says it was her mom who found the body. She met with officers to discuss the case and explained how the pain never goes away.

This is the second year that officers from Crime Stoppers have been involved in this case. They handed out fliers with pictures of Jackson in hopes that a reward will prompt someone to come forward.

Family members say they will never give up hope.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
