Broken fire hydrant left unfixed
Residents in Throgs Neck are concerned about a broken fire hydrant on the corner of Randall and Calhoun avenues.
Sydney Flores, a community activist, told News 12 that he reported the problem to the Department of Environmental Protection. The DEP sent crews to the location, but the running hydrant was not fixed.
Residents are concerned about the water pressure in the case of a fire, high water bills, property taxes and wasting water.
News 12 reached out to the DEP regarding the issue. The agency says it will likely be fixed on Wednesday morning.
