Ribbon-cutting held for affordable housing
A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held for 201 new affordable housing apartments just off Park Avenue.
Officials from the city's housing agencies, along with local politicians opened the complex at 253 East 142nd St., better known as the Morris Court Apartments.
Aside from the low-cost units, the building offers on-site parking and laundry rooms for residents.
One key aspect of Morris Court is that 25 percent of the units available have been set aside for former homeless residents.
All of the apartments have been filled. There are still three new buildings still accepting applications through the city's Housing Connect website. One of those buildings has a deadline of 11:59 p.m. tomorrow.
