Library provides safe, fun activities for teens

Teens looking for a safe, fun place to socialize can take advantage of all there is to offer at the Bronx Library Center.
Workers at the Bronx library want to remind young adults that there is a safe place to spend time. The reminder follows a bloody weekend in the Bronx, as two teens were shot and killed. Katie Fernandez, supervising librarian at the Bronx Library Center, says there aren't a lot of spaces for teens to go and just be teenagers. She says the library offers them a chance to socialize and take advantage of a number of resources.
There is an entire section reserved for teens. They can use computers, read books and play board games. Teens can also take advantage of dozens of college and career fairs offered at the library.
Library officials say they are also looking to launch a multimedia program over the summer so teens can watch videos about the harsh reality of teen violence.
