Artists gather to help abuse victims

Singers, song writers and other artists gathered Sunday to help victims of sexual abuse.

It was all part of Peace December, an initiative aimed at lowering crime and violence in the area.

Peace December started in 2010 under Mayor Michael Bloomberg's administration, with the aim of promoting various programs of peace and nonviolence during the month of December.

It has now grown to a yearround campaign.

Many of the artists who were at the event Sunday will be going on a Peace December concert tour this summer to use the power of music to help spread peace.

The tour kicks off July 1 in New Hampshire before coming to the Bronx on July 4.
