Police: Woman killed in Wakefield shooting
A woman was killed during a shooting Monday evening in Wakefield, police say.
The shooting occurred at around 5:45 p.m. at East 237th Street and Bullard Avenue. Police say a 36-year-old woman was shot in the head by a man who is now is custody.
The victim was transported to the hospital and pronounced dead.
Witnesses at the scene say the shooting stemmed from an argument between the victim and suspect. They say they saw the suspect run toward Bronx Boulevard, which is where he was apprehended by police.
