Lawmakers secure funds to ease Hutch Metro Center traffic
Lawmakers have moved one step closer to being able to conduct a much-need traffic study in a very congested Bronx area.
Blaring horns and heavy traffic are typical near the Hutchinson Metro Center. The center is the hub for medical needs, gyms, along with places to stay and dine. State Sen. Jeff Klein is at the forefront of securing $1 million that will be put toward a traffic study.
Klein says the study will be very comprehensive and believes it will help the current traffic patterns.
The top priority for the area is to build an exit ramp from the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Transportation officials hope to begin the study at the start of summer.
