Riverdale Y opens Sunday farmers market
Farmers markets are now open for business across the city, including one at the Riverdale Y.
Among the goods available for purchase are lettuce, scones, fruit, cheese and myriad other organic produce. The market even offers organic makeup.
Vendors say the items come from local farms, which helps out small businesses throughout the borough.
This is the Independence Avenue market's fourth year in operation. Customers tell News 12 that the market is one of the few places in the borough that sells hard-to-find kosher and organic goods.
The farmers market is expected to introduce new fruits and veggies over the next few weeks as they ripen. It will operate every Sunday until the fall.
