Mother's Day brings City Island traffic to a halt

The warm weather coupled with the Mother's Day holiday on Sunday brought people out in droves to City Island, bringing traffic to a standstill in the area.
Traffic on I-95 was bumper-to-bumper as people tried to get to the hot spot. Many cars were spotted giving up and turning around.
"Is there a way to fix the traffic on Mother's Day? No," said Bill Stanton, of the City Island Civic Association. "We're a small island, there's a lot of cars. Do the math."
Officers from the 45th Precinct were out directing traffic and doing their best to keep things running as smoothly as possible.
