Community Board 8 held a meeting Tuesday night to discuss a bar near Manhattan College that has caused problems in the area.
Board members say they would like to see the Rain Lounge closed after multiple shootings and stabbings over the past six months.
The bar's liquor license has recently expired.
The bar's owners have suggested a number of options to keep the bar open, including licensed public safety and closing at an earlier time.
The New York State Liquor Authority has scheduled a hearing for June 20 with the Rain Lounge.
