Audit found MTA neglecting subway track cleaning
The MTA is being criticized by some for not sticking to its own standard when it comes to cleaning subway tracks.
The tracks are supposed to be cleaned every three weeks.
However, a new audit by the city comptroller found that only about 3 percent of them are getting any attention.
The audit found most are only getting cleaned once every six months by a special vacuum that picks up trash from the tracks.
