Thousands gathered in Van Cortlandt Park to support family members and friends with autism.
They marched through the park for the annual Bronx Walk Now for Autism Speaks.
The event is part of an effort to raise funds for the organization and important medical research.
Autism spectrum disorders are now diagnosed in one in every 68 children, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control.
Participants also enjoyed a community resource fair where they were able to learn about local educational and medical resources.
