Tenants blame NYCHA for hazardous living conditions
Tenants in the Morris Houses are calling for immediate repairs to their apartments.
They say they've been living in hazardous conditions for more than eight months and they're demanding that something be done about it.
Tenants say their living conditions include severe water leaks and mold, lack of hot water and defective door locks.
News 12 spoke with tenants who say they've reached out to NYCHA several times about getting vital repairs, but the workers either never show up or say they don't have the tools necessary for the repairs.
Tenants say they're looking to hold NYCHA in contempt of court for not meeting the 30-day deadline that was put in place in September of 2014.
NYCHA released a statement saying that the housing authority is expediting repairs in the Morris Houses and they understand services must remain consistent.
