Bronx Zoo opening new children's zoo this weekend

The Bronx Zoo is reopening its new and improved children's zoo.
After a year and a half of renovations, the children's zoo will welcome visitors again beginning this Saturday, now with a new South American theme.
Special animal exhibits curator Peter Laline says new species will be in the exhibit, including the sloth, squirrel monkeys and the world's smallest deer.
Another part of the children's zoo featuring domestic animals has already opened. Kids can feed farm animals like sheep and alpaca.
"Once you're inside the Bronx Zoo, you don't feel like you're in any borough in the city. You feel like you're in a park," says Laline.
Visitors can still expect to see other popular features like the prairie dog tunnels, tree house and spider web that many visitors grew up loving.
