Pile of bones found at Morrisania apartment complex

Police are investigating a disturbing discovery made Thursday at an apartment complex in Morrisania.

Residents say they found a pile of bones in the lobby of their building on Third Avenue and 163rd Street. Investigators have removed the bones from the building, but sources say there were at least 30 pounds of bones sitting in the lobby.

Surveillance video from the building shows a man walking into the building and going up to the third or fourth floor. The video then shows the man unloading a pile of bones onto the floor.

Police sources say what was found may have been animal bones, but the medical examiner will make the final determination.
