Male breast cancer survivor spreads awareness
A Bronx man who survived breast cancer is doing his part to bring attention to the rare disease.
Mike Singer is working with local Assemblyman Michael Benedetto to pass a proclamation making the third week of October Male Breast Cancer Awareness Week throughout the state of New York.
Singer says he was shocked to find out that men could get breast cancer when he was diagnosed back in 2010. He had a mastectomy and is now celebrating five years of being cancer free.
Singer's long-term goal is to make Breast Cancer Awareness Week a nationally observed movement.
