Teen mom benefits from 'Lyfe' program
A young Bronx mother who is graduating early from high school is giving credit to the Department of Education's Lyfe program.
Janira Moore, 16, became a mother a year ago, and is graduating from the University Heights Secondary School.
She gives some of the credit to the DOE's Lyfe program, which provides free child care for mothers and fathers who are still in high school.
Moore says while her son Joshua was in good hands, she was able to focus on her education and graduate with honors.
She will be going to Brooklyn College in July, where she will be studying accounting.
