Street renamed to honor slain NYPD detective

A Brooklyn street was renamed in honor of NYPD Detective Wenjian Liu, who was assassinated along with his partner, Detective Rafael Ramos, back in December.
Friends and family members of Liu, along with Mayor Bill de Blasio and NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton, gathered Saturday as West Sixth Street in Gravesend was renamed Detective Wenjian Liu Way.
Liu and his family lived on the street. Family members say while they're still mourning, it's comforting to know all those who pass by will always remember their hero.
Bratton says next Saturday they'll be renaming another Brooklyn street in honor of Ramos.
