Justice program offers valuable life lessons

Some at-risk and court-involved men and women in the Bronx are learning some important life skills thanks to a special program.
The Osborne Association's Justice Community program helps people ages 18-24 change their lives over the course of eight weeks. Participants of the program met up with members of the Rivers Run Community Garden Friday to help construct benches and plant flower beds.
Coordinators say the program has long-term goals for the people involved. They say those who stick with it see the benefits. Faatimah Croston, of the Osborne Association, says the goal is to have participants graduate and find employment.
Carlos Davila, who completed the program, says his life is wonderful now. He says he has stayed out of trouble and spends more time with his family.
