Stop sign installed in Belmont after crossing guard is hit
A four-way stop sign that residents in Belmont requested after a crossing guard was struck has finally been installed.
The request came after a crossing guard for Our Lady of Mount Carmel School was struck while on the job in mid-May.
The community demanded that the city's Department of Transportation install the stop sign at 188th Street and Bathgate Avenue.
Residents say they are also pushing for the DOT to conduct a speed bump survey of the area.
