Word on the Street: Hot subway cars

The air conditioning of about 10 subway cars goes down each day, according to a report by The New York World.

Since 2010, the most outages occurred in July 2013, the report says. It also found that older subway cars tend to get hotter more often than newer ones, and some of the hottest cars can be found on the 6 train.

The MTA said in a statement, "Hot cars are a rarity. If there is a hot car, it is immediately taken out of service after it completes its run and taken to the yard for repairs."

News 12 The Bronx hit the streets to ask residents how they feel about the hot cars.
