Brook Avenue mural celebrates hip-hop's roots
Bronx artists seek to pay homage to the roots of hip-hop with a new graffiti mural in Mott Haven on Brook Avenue.
The artwork is the latest part of "Faces from the Block," an ongoing graffiti project.
The new piece was inspired by photographer Ricky Flores' documentation of life in the South Bronx in the 1980s.
Artists will be working on the mural all weekend. The next installation in the project is planned to go up just around the corner.
