Mass remembers South Carolina shooting victims
The Nativity of Our Blessed Lady Church in the Bronx held a special Mass Sunday that was dedicated to the victims of the church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina.
People from all walks of life solemnly filed into the church on 233rd Street to remember the nine people whose lives were lost at the hands of suspected gunman Dylann Roof.
Those who attended the Mass say that no matter how much time passes, they will always remember the victims, not just in church but in their daily lives, as well.
The parishioners hope that by coming together, they can spread their message of unity.
"We just have to come together as a group, as a collective, to solve these problems," said Maureen Webb.
The shooting prompted South Carolina to reconsider flying the Confederate flag at its Statehouse. It was taken down Friday after a vote.
