Fallen tree branch injures 2 kids at park

A tree branch fell and injured two children as they played in Bronx River Park, police say.

According to police, the children were filling water balloons at East 180th Street and Boston Road when the tree branch fell on them at around 4 p.m. Monday.

One child suffered a broken leg, and the other had minor injuries. They were transported to Jacobi Medical Center and are expected to be OK.

It is unclear what caused the tree branch to fall.
