A 4-month-old baby boy died in what police believe was a tragic accident Friday at around noon.
Investigators say the baby, identified by neighbors as Christopher Rhodes, suffered head trauma and injuries to the torso.
The child's father left him lying on a couch pillow after feeding him, and the baby reportedly fell off the couch, striking his head on the floor in their Lyon Avenue home.
Christopher was rushed to Albert Einstein College of Medicine and quickly transferred to Jacobi Medical Center, according to police. He died there.
The NYPD says investigators are waiting for the medical examiner to officially determine the cause of death.
