Classic rapper Spoonie Gee returns to hip-hop

He's the first rap artist in the world to have released a solo album, and he's been called the godfather of hip-hop, the love rapper and the original gangster rapper.
Gabriel Jackson, also known as "Spoonie Gee," has been out of the hip-hop spotlight for more than 10 years.
He says he earned the nickname from his mother when he would only eat with a spoon as a child.
The New York native spent a few years in prison, but now says he's making music again.
His 1980 song "Love Rap" was listed at No. 65 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of Hip-Hop" in 2008.
Jackson says in addition to his new music, he's planning a benefit for children who cannot afford after-school programs for the fall.
