'Stop the Violence' basketball event held in Mott Haven

More than 40 boys gathered to support the "Stop the Violence" movement during a basketball tournament in the South Bronx.

Stop the Violence volunteers say they want to keep the kids off the streets with fun activities and sports.

Participants say that playing basketball was a good way to make friends and show good sportsmanship.

The equipment for the event was donated by Nike and basketball legend Tiny Archibald.

Next week, a girls' basketball tournament will be held in Mott Haven.
