Woman hospitalized after violent robbery in Wakefield
A woman is in the hospital after a violent robbery in Wakefield over the weekend.
Police say the suspect, 34-year-old David Lopez, repeatedly stabbed a woman on Saturday night inside an apartment on East 234th Street. He then ran off with her cellphone.
The victim was taken to Jacobi Hospital where she is in stable condition.
Officials say Lopez is 5 feet, 9 inches tall with brown eyes and black hair.
